Volunteering with NEST

Because we are all volunteers most meetings are held out of normal working hours, If you put your name forward for any of the groups or tasks you are volunteering personal time rather than professional time paid by your employer.

Options for Involvement
Management committee volunteer
This involves working on the committee to steer the overall direction and activities of NEST now and in the future.

Activity volunteer
This can be any level of commitment you feel you can give from involvement on one of the working groups helping deliver programmes and workshops to stuffing envelopes for mailings, fund raising activities or contributing to the newsletter. Basically whatever you feel you would like to give in terms of time and commitment.

Membership Services
Eg. newsletter production and website maintainance.

Professional partner organisation
Assistance in kind with resources, for example provision of a venue for workshops, loan of a van to transport props, provision of staff to assist with running programmes, assistance with the recruitment of children and leaders.

NEST works through partnership with other like-minded organisations for example Durham Wildlife Trust and Northumberland National Park Authority. It may be that you would like to represent your organisation as a professional partner working with NEST to deliver common goals.
